UEFA Champions League draw results: Bayern Munich - Juventus the best tie of the bunch

Harold Cunningham

Real Madrid and Barcelona avoided a quarterfinal Clasico and will both be favorites to progress. One of Malaga or Dortmund will be a surprise semifinalist, while Bayern Munich - Juventus is the best-looking quarterfinal tie.

Los Merengues have drawn the Turkish champions Galatasaray with the home leg at the Bernabeu first, though everyone else may be feeling a little more apprehensive about their games.

Borussia Dortmund will travel to play Málaga first in a tie you'd expect the German champions to win, though with Manuel Pellegrini's team continuing to surprise on both domestic and continental fronts this season, it could be a little trickier than it seems.

Paris Saint-Germain have the unenviable task of welcoming Barcelona to the Parc des Princes, before heading to Spain and probably towards the exit of the competition -- at least if Barça's performance against AC Milan in mid-week was anything to go by.

Finally, in perhaps the least predictable tie of the round, Bayern Munich host Juventus. With both teams almost certainly heading towards domestic glory, it's a mouthwatering contest.
