Stoke City vs. WBA: Final score 0-0. Surprise!

Chris Brunskill

Stoke City vs. West Bromwich Albion was absolutely terrible and everyone who watched it probably regrets their decision.

Players who can't do it on cold, rainy afternoons at the Britannia Stadium: Everyone. Stoke City played West Bromwich Albion to a goalless and thoroughly wet draw, and it was every bit as poor as you might have expected. Seriously, the best scoring chance came when Jonathan Walters hit a shot from an implausible angle that took a deflection, beat Ben Foster, and bounced a foot or so wide of his right-hand post.

The passing was poor, the pitch was awful and neither team did enough to win. The Baggies' best chance also came by accident -- a free kick bounced off the wall and fell to right back Billy Jones with Stoke's back line stranded. But his cross was deflected by Asmir Begovic, whose touch took it into Geoff Cameron's face and behind for a corner. There was some pressure from the hosts at the end, but it all amounted to pretty much nothing.

This game was terrible. I said that already, but it bore repeating.
