Colombia never looked like they were going to struggle to defeat Bolivia on Friday night, as they cruised to an easy 5-0 win. It took them 20 minutes to score their first goal, but they had two goals disallowed before they netted one that counted, and were truly rampant from the scoring of their first goal onwards.
Teofilo Gutierrez scored both of the early disallowed goals for Colombia, but he was correctly flagged for offside on both occasions. Juan Cuadrado looked to be a hair offside on the first Colombia goal that counted, but he stayed level with the last defender before receiving the ball in the judgment of the linesman. After collecting the ball on the right wing, he cut back for Macnelly Torres, who put Colombia ahead 1-0.
There were no more goals in the first half, but the Cafeteros really turned on the style from the beginning of the second half onwards. Central defender Carlos Valdes scored in the 50th minute on a set piece, and there appeared to be no way back into the match for Bolivia from then on. Gutierrez sealed the result in the 62nd minute, finishing off a through ball from Torres.
To add insult to injury, Falcao netted in the 86th minute, and Pablo Armero scored his first ever Colombia goal in stoppage time.
