There are 30 minutes left at Estadio Azteca and despite improved play from Mexico, the match remains scoreless.
Neither team made any changes to their lineup coming out of the locker room, but things definitely looked different. Mexico were immediately more aggressive on the attack and immediately pressed the US back on the heels from the opening whistle.
Mexico created a bit of a unintentional dangerous moment in the 46th minute when Javier Aquino's speculative low cross from the right was tipped by Matt Besler and forced Brad Guzan to dive and push it wide of the far post. Luckily for the US, Javier Hernandez wasn't lurking in the space or he might have been able to net himself a gift goal.
In the 50th minute Maurice Edu gave the ball away very cheaply and forced DeMarcus Beasley to make a quick recovery in the US box to prevent a Mexico chance of goal. Aquino was back probing the right wing in the 52nd minute and his cross was clipped well over the crossbar. With Beasley carrying a yellow card, he has been forced to give Aquino and bit more space and he struggling to deal with his pace since he cannot afford a second card.
