Manchester United vs. Aston Villa: Lineups

Julian Finney

Jonny Evans and Phil Jones start for Manchester United, while Gabriel Agbonlahor returns for Villa.

Manchester United have started with Jonny Evans and Phil Jones as their centre-back pairing, with Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic left out after they played in the 2-2 draw with West Ham last week. Shinji Kagawa starts on the left, with Ryan Giggs partnering Michael Carrick in the centre of midfield.

There are few surprises for Aston Villa, and they'll be pleased to see Gabby Agbonlahor return after he missed last week's game against Fulham with a slight injury. He scored in a 1-0 win the last time Villa beat United at Old Trafford in 2009, and starts alongside Andreas Weimann, while Charles N'Zogbia keeps his place out on the wing.

Manchester United starting lineup (4-2-3-1): David De Gea; Patrice Evra, Jonny Evans, Phil Jones, Rafael Da Silva; Ryan Giggs, Michael Carrick; Shinji Kagawa, Wayne Rooney, Antonio Valencia; Robin van Persie

Aston Villa starting lineup (4-2-3-1): Brad Guzan; Joe Bennett, Nathan Baker, Ron Vlaar, Matthew Lowton; Fabian Delph, Ashley Westwood; Gabriel Agbonlahor, Andreas Weimann, Charles N'Zogbia; Christian Benteke
