Panama vs. Mexico: Lineups

Miguel Tovar

'Chepo' Jose Manuel de la Torre has made three changes to his lineup.

With Panama set to deploy two big and physical forwards, 'Chepo' Jose Manuel de la Torre has expectedly dropped Diego Reyes for Hector Moreno. His other two changes are a bit more surprising. After a poor performance against Jamaica, Pablo Barrera has been dropped for Javier Aquino. That move can be easily explained, but Chepo's third switch is less obvious. Aldo de Nigris, the man who scored the winner against Jamaica, has been dropped for Giovani dos Santos, who was disappointing in his substitute appearance. This means a change in formation from 4-4-2 to 4-2-3-1 for El Tri.

Panama starting lineup (4-4-2): Jaime Penedo; Roman Torres, Felipe Baloy, Luis Henríquez, Roberto Chen; Rolando Escobar, Gabriel Gómez, Amilcar Henríquez, Anibal Godoy; Luis Tejada, Blas Pérez

Mexico starting lineup (4-2-3-1): Jose Corona; Carlos Salcido, Hector Moreno, 'Maza' Francisco Rodriguez, Severo Meza; Gerardo Torrado, Jesus Zavala; Andres Guardado, Giovani dos Santos, Javier Aquino; 'Chicharito' Javier Hernandez

Kickoff is at 10 p.m. ET and the game can be seen on Telemundo in the United States.
