AC Milan to land another talented youngster?

Claudio Villa

Reports suggest a growing distance between Fiorentina and Adem Ljajic, with AC Milan is preparing to strike a deal for the young Serbian forward. Adding the saga of Stevan Jovetic's potential transfer only further complicates matters.

Adem Ljajic is rumored to be on his way out at Fiorentina. His contract expires in 2014, but the Italian media are continuously reporting the significant distance between what he is asking and what the viola are ready to offer to induce a fresh signature. Ljajic could follow ex-viola captain Riccardo Montolivo to AC Milan, although the rossoneri are willing to wait a year for his contract to expire. Or he could end up with Atlético Madrid, another club rumored to be interested.

Ljajic's fate is intertwined with that of Stevan Jovetic, as Fali Ramadani, who represents both of them (as well as Stefan Savic, Haris Seferovic and Marko Bakic) doesn't seem to have a great relationship with Fiorentina's board. It is rumored that the first problems came when Fiorentina didn't want to sell the Montenegrin star last summer, despite Ramadani having lined up a buyer for Jovetic.

To further complicate matters, it seems Ljajic is asking for a yearly wage of about 1.6 million euros, with is almost three times what he earns now. It seems that if Viola were to let Jovetic move to Juventus, it would be easier to negotiate a new contract for Ljajic. However, Fiorentina owner Andrea Della Valle insists that the bianconeri will need to pay at least €30m in exchange for the Montenegrin.
