Roberto Martinez continues to raid his old club as Everton finalise the signings of Joel Robles and Antolin Alcaraz.

Roberto Martinez continues to reunite with his former Wigan charges as Everton complete the signings of Joel Robles and Antolin Alcaraz.

Alcaraz, who moves on a free transfer, will bolster Everton's defence, while Joel Robles, who played on loan for the Latics last season, joins from Atletico Madrid for an undisclosed fee. Alcaraz signs a two-year deal with the Toffees after his contract at Wigan expired, while Robles joins for a free rumoured to be around £2million, with some suggestions that Atletico have also inserted a buy-back clause into the agreement. The keeper is expected to be Tim Howard's understudy at the club.

The two join Arouna Kone in former Wigan players to join Martinez's new-look squad at Goodison Park in this transfer window. Martinez was much-heralded for his work at Wigan, despite overseeing a relegation last season, and clearly believes that his former players have what it takes to play at a higher level
