VIDEO: adidas shows off Lionel Messi's latest f50 adizero

At the end of June, adidas announced a new, excellent Turbo/Blast Purple/White colorway for Lionel Messi's latest f50 adizero. The sportswear giant is of course no stranger to launching bespoke colorways for the star Barcelona & Argentina man and the Turbo/Blast Purple look is the latest in a long line of adidas' departures from the norm.

The new design is comprised of straight lines, sharp cuts, diagonals, smooth gradients ,and will look to have Messi stand out on the pitch with more than just his skill. The new colorway is the successor to the stunning red & white pair that Lionel Messi wore over the second half of last season.

For the Turbo/Blast Purple launch, adidas created a brand new video that eschews the new colorway's the "New Speed of Light" design principle. The video was shot at 1000 frames per second with Messi wearing an LED-emblazoned suit, boots, and kicking a ball covered in diodes to showcase the player's ability using light in a pitch-black room.
