Liverpool vs. Stoke City, Premier League 2013: Lineups

Luis Suarez is absent for Liverpool's opening game of the 2013-14 Premier League season, with new signing Iago Aspas starting in his stead.

The Spaniard lines up with Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge in a three-man attack for the reds, while Kolo Toure and Simon Mignolet are the other new additions to Brendan Rodgers' side to be handed starts.

Stoke, meanwhile, have only Erik Pieters as a debutant in their team, but there is a place for Wilson Palacios, who found starts hard to come by under Tony Pulis' regime. Peter Crouch starts up front, with Jonathan Walters and Matthew Etherington in support.

Liverpool starting line-up (4-3-3): Simon Mignolet; Glen Johnson, Jose Enrique, Kolo Toure, Daniel Agger; Lucas, Jordan Henderson, Steven Gerrard; Philippe Coutinho, Iago Aspas, Daniel Sturridge.

Stoke City starting line-up (4-3-3): Asmir Begovic; Erik Pieters, Robert Huth, Ryan Shawcross, Geoff Cameron; Glenn Whelan, Steven N'Zonzi, Wilson Palacios; Matthew Etherington, Jonathan Walters, Peter Crouch.
