Newcastle United vs. West Ham United: Preview and TV schedule

Clive Brunskill

Newcastle return home to face West Ham as they look to get back on track after a season opening thumping from Manchester City.

After being blown out by Manchester City on Monday, Newcastle United will be looking to bounce back as their have their home opener against West Ham United.

Alan Pardew will be looking for his side to rebound though injuries could cause issues for Newcastle with Jonás Gutiérrez and Chuck Tiote doubtful. Steven Taylor will also be unavailable after his dumb red card in the loss to City, further compounding things for the Magpies.

The Irons looked strong in their win over Cardiff but Newcastle should provide a tougher challenge than the newly promoted side. Stewart Downing -- who signed from Liverpool this week -- could make his debut for West Ham but they'll still be without former Magpies strikers Andy Carroll.

Newcastle United injuries and suspensions

Out: Steven Taylor (suspended), Loïc Rémy (calf). In doubt: Jonás Gutiérrez (hamstring), Davide Santon (hip), Chuck Tiote (groin).
