West Bromwich Albion are picking up some much-needed help: The struggling midlands side have picked up Morgan Amalfitano on a loan-to-buy deal from Marseille. The 28-year-old midfielder, who's been with Marseille since 2011, will hopefully help spark a Baggies' attack that's struggled badly so far this season despite the addition of former Chelsea man Nicolas Anelka.
Amalfitano doesn't score many goals, but he'll help Steve Clarke's side on both sides of the ball, and he can move into central midfield if required. Since this is a loan to buy, there's basically no risk -- if he fails to adapt to the Premier League, he'll be shipped off back to Ligue 1 at the end of the season. West Brom will also get a boost through the return of Zoltan Gera, returning from a serious knee injury at the end of the month. Better days are ahead.
