The FA have released a statement announcing that Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway will serve a two-match touchline suspension with immediate effect, and has also been ordered to pay an £18,000 fine. The Eagles will not appeal the decision, which results from a recent FA Independent Regulatory Commission hearing.
The sanction comes on the back of two offences in the aftermath of Palace's season-opening defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. The first, for which Holloway was fined £10,000 and given the two game ban was for his "language and/or behaviour in or around the match officials' changing room after the game" amounting to "improper conduct."
The additional £8,000 fine was post-match comments also amounting to "improper conduct in that they questioned the integrity of the match referee and/or match officials in general, and/or implied that the match referee and/or match officials in general were motivated by bias; and/or brought the game into disrepute."
