Manchester United vs. Swansea City: Preview and TV schedule

Alex Livesey

Swansea will try to make Manchester United's start to 2014 even worse at Old Trafford.

Nothing has been going well for Manchester United in 2014. They are 0-3 since the new year and while they can blame it on their rash of injuries, they aren't getting much healthier so they are going to have to find a way to get results shorthanded anyways.

This week, Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Marouane Fellaini and Nani are the training table population, leaving David Moyes without his two best forwards, his marquee summer signing and a talented winger. Normally, that would not be much of an issue with Swansea coming to Old Trafford, but the venerable old ground has not been the fortress that the Red Devils are used to it being. They have lost consecutive matches there and those struggles, as well as the injuries, have David Moyes' side fearing another loss as the Swans prepare to visit.

Swansea have actually been almost as good away as they have at home, although that is owed as much to their struggles at the Liberty Stadium as it does to their prowess on the road. Still, they have picked up three wins away this season and have results in half of their matches outside of the Liberty Stadium. Next up for them, making it four wins and six results from 11 away matches to make 2014 a complete disaster for the Red Devils.
