Inter Milan made a pretty good start to life under Walter Mazzarri, though things have turned rather sour of late. They've reverted to type by dropping points against average mid-table teams, and have only won once in their last seven in all competitions.
But, surely not even the nerazzurri can fail to pick up a win against basement club Catania on Sunday. The poor elefanti have lost two on the trot since it looked like their 2-0 win over Bologna would kickstart a climb up the table, and they remain firmly rooted at the bottom. Despite having a squad which should be good enough for a mid-table finish, they've struggled to gel.
For this match Inter don't have any serious first team injury concerns, though it's worth nothing that Fredy Guarín has been omitted from the matchday squad by Mazzarri. His proposed Juventus deal fell through at the last minute, and he's reportedly not happy at all. A departure to another destination seems imminent. For Catania, lively attacker Pablo Barrientos will be a big miss, and he's joined on the sidelines by bit-part players Pablo Álvarez and Fabián Monzón.
