Inter Milan have completed the signing of Lazio's star midfielder Hernanes until June 2018. The Brazilian midfielder leaves the aquile after three-and-a-half years of service, having established a reputation as one of Serie A's top players since his move from São Paulo back in 2010.
There's no doubt that he's a fantastic capture for the nerazzurri, who have been short on quality and creativity in the centre of their midfield for quite a while. Hernanes isn't a pure deep-lying playmaker in the Andrea Pirlo mould, but a more dynamic attacking force, capable of gliding into advanced positions and chipping in with a few goals courtesy of his excellent long-range shooting.
His versatility and mobility no doubt will serve him well in Walter Mazzarri's midfield system, and this could well be the best signing we've seen in Serie A this January. With Hernanes having been pretty quiet so far this season, hopefully he'll be able to discover top form once again.
