Bayern Munich are the best team in the world and are playing in the glamour tie of the Champions League round of 16 so asking fans to shell out a pretty penny for tickets wouldn't be unreasonable. But they won't ask their fans to do that, even if Arsenal are.
Bayern have decided to help subsidize the tickets for their away fans at the first leg in London, bringing the price down from €75 to €45. The gesture will cost the club €90,000.
Arsenal set the ticket price for the first leg in London at €75, a normal price for the Gunners, who have the most expensive tickets in the Premier League. But when Bayern charge €15 for a standing place at the Allianz Arena and €70 for the best seats in the stadium, the Arsenal prices look extraordinarily expensive so the defending European champions decided to help their fans out.
The list of reasons why Bayern are the best is getting awfully long.
