AC Milan striker Fernando Torres has confirmed that he is returning to former club Atlético Madrid. The 30-year-old, who started his career with Atléti at the age of 11, is moving to the Spanish champions in an 18-month loan deal that is expected to allow Italian winger Alessio Cerci to move in the other direction. Torres tweeted the following confirmation:
At last back home. Thanks to all that have made this dream come true. Forza @Atleti. #TorresHaVuelto pic.twitter.com/HZjMI5v6Gl

It is hard to see Torres managing to break into Atléti's first team given the awful form he's been in for the last few years. Since his record-breaking move to Chelsea from Liverpool back in January 2011, he has scored a combined total of 21 league goals, and just one since arriving at Milan. However, if anything is going to rekindle his goalscoring spirit, it's the emotion of returning to his favourite team.
Well, that and Diego Simeone screaming in his face.
