Olympiacos vs. Manchester United: Lineups

Laurence Griffiths

Adnan Januzaj and Rafael aren't in Manchester United's 18-man squad even though David Moyes didn't say they were injured. Okay! Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie are the unsurprising forward tandem.

Olympiakos are without first choice forward Javier Saviola so it'll be up to Michael Olaitan, who starts over Marko Scepovic despite his hat trick over the weekend. Costa Rican winger Joel Campbell gets his second straight start as well.

David Moyes has limited options in the defense with injuries to Phil Jones and Jonny Evans, so he's decided to stick with the backline that got a clean sheet against Cyrstal Palace over the weekend. Rio Ferdinand starts in the middle while Chris Smalling starts at fullback with Rafael apparently still not fit enough to even make the bench. In the midfield, the cup-tied Juan Mata has been replaced by Antonio Valencia.

Olympiakos (4-2-3-1): Roberto; Leandro Salino, Ivan Marcano, Kostas Manolas, Jose Holebas; Delvin N'Dinga, Giannis Maniatis; Hernan Perez, Alejandro Domínguez, Joel Campbell; Michael Olaitan.

Manchester United (4-2-3-1): David De Gea; Chris Smalling, Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra; Michael Carrick, Tom Cleverley; Antonio Valencia, Wayne Rooney; Ashley Young; Robin van Persie.
