Bale is a magician

Real Madrid look well on their way to absolutely destroying Schalke 04. They're already up 2-0 in Gelsenkirchen after just 21 minutes, with the second coming from Gareth Bale. He had a huge part in the first goal, then pulled off this insane dribbling run for the second.

Okay, yes, the defending is awful, but this is still an incredible run and finish. How does someone keep any control of the ball and hold off that many defenders in that situation?

BBC continue to dominate

Karim Benzema has been a bit of an underperformer and a scapegoat for Real Madrid in recent years, but he's come alive this season. The presence of Gareth Bale has helped him immensely, and the front three dubbed 'BBC' has turned dominant.

They've already got Real Madrid up 1-0 on Schalke through an absolutely brilliant combination, just 15 minutes into their game in Gelsenkirchen. Bale starts the move and Cristiano Ronaldo assists Benzema with a brilliant backheel, setting up Benzema for an easy finish.

Amazingly, Schalke almost hit back instantly, but failed to convert back-to-back golden chances in hilarious fashion. Iker Casillas stopped a shot by Julian Draxler from point-blank range and Max Meyer hit the follow-up, which should have resulted in an early goal, over the bar.

It's tough to see Schalke getting back in this tie. Even if they do score, Madrid aren't likely to fail to advance at home with an away goal in their pocket.
