England squad for Denmark friendly features debut of Luke Shaw

Ben Hoskins

The 18-year-old Southampton left-back has earned his firs senior team call-up as England prepares to face Denmark.

Roy Hodgson has called in 30 players for England's upcoming friendly against Denmark on Wednesday, March 5th. The squad includes plenty of familiar faces along with the debut of a young defender.

18-year-old Southampton fullback Luke Shaw gets his first call-up to the senior squad after just three appearances with the England U-21 squad. Shaw is one of three left-backs in the squad, whereas Hodgson has decided to only call-up three central defenders. One of those players is Steven Caulker, who earns his first call-up since scoring against Sweden in 2012.

Plenty of regulars are in the squad as well including Joe Hart, Leighton Baines, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney.

Manchester United and Liverpool lead the way with five players from each team in the squad. They're followed by Southampton with four and Chelsea with three. Arsenal and Tottenham both send two players.

The game will be played at Wembley Stadium in London.
