Malaga vs. Real Madrid: Preview and TV schedule

Denis Doyle

Things are pretty simple at this point for Los Blancos. Keep winning and the title will be theirs.

Real Madrid's consistent march towards a league title continues with a trip to face surging Málaga on Saturday.

Madrid are unbeaten in 17 league games but must avoid looking ahead to next weekend's pivotal Clásico match against Barcelona. Thanks to recent slip-ups by Barca and Atlético Madrid, Los Blancos have opened up a three point lead in the title race and control their fate with just ten rounds left in the season.

It's been a rough first season for Bernd Schuster at Málaga but considering all the turmoil last season, it's not unexpected. The loss of several key players and limited funds always meant that 2013/14 was going to be a struggle, but after dropping to the verge of the drop zone, the Anchovies has won three straight matches and moved up to 13th.

Málaga injuries and suspensions

Out: Jesus Gamez (suspended), Sergi Darder (suspended), Eliseu (virus), Mounir El Hamdaoui (knee), Weligton (muscular).

Real Madrid injuries and suspensions

Out: Sergio Ramos (suspended), Álvaro Arbeloa (knee), Sami Khedira (knee)

Sergio Ramos made sure to pick-up a yellow card last weekend to ensure he'd serve his one-match ban before the Clásico next weekend. Defender Álvaro Arbeloa is expected to miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. Málaga have a laundry list of suspensions and injuries.

Madrid won the first meeting of the season 2-0 at the Bernabéu but the last time they traveled to La Rosaleda, Málaga pulled off a 3-2 upset.
