Lionel Messi became Barcelona's all-time leading goal scorer as the Blaugrana hammered Osasuna at the Camp Nou.

Barcelona took out some of their recent frustration against Osasuna on Sunday, putting seven goals past the visitors, and cruising to an impressive victory. Lionel Messi scored a hat-trick and made some history as well, becoming the greatest goal scorer in club history.

Osasuna thought they'd taken an early lead in the 9th minute when Victor Valdés' save on Emiliano Armenteros rebounded right to the foot of Oriol Riera for an easy tap-in. Riera was well offside though and the linesman's flag was up, nullifying the goal.

Despite some good pressure from the visitors, their willingness to attack opened them up for a counter attack strike in the 18th minute. Xavi's dancing at the top of the 18-yard-box drew the attention of two defenders, leaving Pedro with space on the right side of the area. His cross in front of goal found Lionel Messi who directed the ball past Andrés, giving Barca the 1-0 lead.

Four minutes later Alexis Sánchez doubled the Barcelona lead. Jordi Alba and Andrés Iniesta played a quick give-and-go on the left side before Alba center to Pedro for the tap-in past Andrés.

Iniesta decided that he wanted to score a goal of his own in the 34th minute and extended Barca's lead to 3-0. Iniesta received the ball on the edge of the Osasuna area, took a single touch and launched a rising shot that rocketed past Andrés, inside the far post.

Messi's 2nd goal of the match in the 63rd minute made it 4-0 for Barca but it also created some club history. It was Messi's 370th career goal with the club in all matches, breaking the all-time record that had been held by Paulino Alcántara for 87 years.

Second half subtitle Cristian Tello made it 5-0 in the 78th minute, somehow avoiding three defenders as he drifted back away from the 18-year-box, before placing a rising shot into the top corner.

Messi finished off his hat-trick in the 88th minute, tapping in a loose ball from close range for Barca's sixth goal of the day.

Pedro added a seventh goal in the 91st minute...because why not.
