Paulo Machado was born on March 31, 1986 in Bairro do Cerco, Portugal, seemingly a very normal baby, but by the age of 16 he had made it to FC Porto's academy. Two years later, he made his debut for the senior team under Jose Mourinho.
Machado was on the fast track to greatness.
Since then, Machado has played in Ligue 1 for Toulouse and in the Greek Superleague for Greece, where he won two league titles. He was a Portugal youth star, making 35 appearances for the U-20, U-21 and U-23 teams, while also earning six caps for the senior team.
But it wasn't until recently that he truly made his leap to the elite. It wasn't until he started growing his mustache.
As good a footballer as Machado is, it pales in comparison to what he has grown on his face.
The Mustache Hall of Fame has already waived its five-year wait period and has inducted Machado with immediate effect. It's not hard to see why either.
Machado is a legend.
