Copa Libertadores scores: Cruzeiro, San Lorenzo in trouble

Some of the biggest teams in Copa Libertadores find themselves outside the top two in their groups after four rounds.

Atletico Paranaense 3-0 Universitario

Universitario are looking like by far the weakest in the competition, and they joined Nacional as one of two sides to get eliminated from Copa Libertadores in just the fourth week. Atletico PR went ahead on a Dalton own goal in the 10th minute and never looked back, with Felipe and Ederson scoring the other two goals.

Cerro Porteño 2-1 O'Higgins

Incredibly, all of this game's goals were scored in the first 10 minutes, two of which were penalties. Dani Guiza -- yes, seriously, that Dani Guiza -- scored the opener just two minutes in and Julio Dos Santos converted a penalty six minutes later, putting Cerro 2-0 up. Pablo Calandria scored from the spot for O'Higgins in the 10th minute, but that was it for the scoring, and O'Higgins are now third in Group 3. Cerro are now top.

Lanus 2-0 Deportivo Cali

Deportivo Cali were in excellent shape heading into this game, but they've got some work to do after losing away to Lanus, and in rather embarrassing fashion. This game got polished off five minutes in. Jorge Pereira scored in the second minute and Maxi Velazquez added his team's second just three minutes later. Lanus are bottom of Group 3, but trail Cerro by just three points, and second-placed Deportivo Cali by two.

Union Española 1-0 San Lorenzo

With top prospect Angel Correa in their side, San Lorenzo looked like a must-watch coming into Copa Libertadores. But they're in trouble after a loss on Thursday, which happened without Correa in the lineup. San Lorenzo defender Mauro Cetto was sent off in the 53rd minute, giving Union Española an opening, which they took advantage of. They're now second in Group 2, while San Lorenzo are last.

Cruzeiro 2-2 Defensor Sporting

Defensor Sporting have a three-point advantage over Cruzeiro in Group 5 after their big away draw, putting the Brazilians in a tough spot. They should take all three points from a home game against Real Garcilaso on the final day, but could already be out before that if they struggle away to Universidad de Chile in their next game.

This match had a little bit of everything, including a fight at the end of the first half that resulted in the dismissals of Defensor defender Matias Malvino and Cruzeiro midifelder Nilton. On the ensuing free kick, Everton Ribeiro curled in a stunner, sending his team to the locker room ahead. Julio Baptista added a second for the hosts in the 62nd minute, and their victory seemed inevitable.

Defensor's comeback started in the 66th minute, when Felipe Gedoz beat Fabio between his legs. The visitors needed every second to steal a point, scoring the equalizer with the last kick of the ball. Fabio made a stop on Gaston Silva at the end of a counter, seemingly saving the result for his team, but Emilio Zeballos made the perfect follow-up run to smash the rebound in.
