Chievo Verona are a famously difficult team to beat, but they haven't really lived up to the stereotype so far this season. The Flying Donkeys are currently only a point above the relegation zone with ten games of the season remaining, and face the tough task of keeping second-placed AS Roma quiet at the Marc'Antonio Bentegodi on Saturday.
Roma certainly haven't been perfect of late; drawing with Inter Milan before being beaten by Napoli, but bounced back with a narrow 3-2 victory over Udinese last weekend. They are certainly now too far adrift of league leaders Juventus to challenge for the scudetto, but with just a three point advantage over third-placed Napoli, they won't be easing off yet.
However, if Chievo can take comfort from anything, it's that Rudi Garcia's side is without two-thirds of its midfield for this encounter. Kevin Strootman has torn his ACL and Daniele De Rossi is suspended, which means Rodrigo Taddei and Radja Nainggolan should fill in behind Miralem Pjanić. Chievo have Leandro Paredes and Roberto Guarna sidelined through injury, while Përparim Hetemaj is suspended.
Chievo Verona injuries and suspensions
Out: Leandro Paredes, Roberto Guana (injured); Përparim Hetemaj (suspended). In doubt: None.
