Sergio Ramos sets La Liga record for career red cards

Sergio Ramos now is the all-time leader in La Liga red cards after his dismissal against Barcelona

Sergio Ramos can now add a second disciplinary record to his resume after picking up his 19th career La Liga red card after bridging down Neymar in the 63rd minute of Sunday's Clásico match against Barcelona.

It wasn't the most convincing of the 19 red cards, but it will still count and gives the Real Madrid defender one of the more undesirable records in Spanish football.

Ramos passes Xavier Aguado (Real Zaragoza) and Pablo Alfaro (Real Zaragoza, Racing Santander and Sevilla) whom he'd tied at 18 reds with his sending off on December 14th against Osasuna.

There's still one more record for Ramos to chase though to go for the "red card hat trick". The previously mentioned Pablo Alfaro had nine red cards during his time in the Segunda Division, giving him 27 total red cards, which is the all-time record for Spanish professional football.

Only eight more cards to go Sergio! You can do it!
