Shakira releases 2014 World Cup song

What's a World Cup without Shakira?

Four years ago, Shakira sang the official song of the World Cup, "Waka Waka." It was outrageously popular, catchy and infuriating, but hey, FIFA paid her money to write a song and then spend a month in South Africa having a blast on someone else's dime while occasionally singing.

This year, Shakira has not been asked by FIFA or anyone else to write a World Cup song. Instead, they tapped Pitbull, but Shakira won't take no for an answer and made a World Cup song anyway. It's a different version of "Dare," a song off of her new album that has been changed for this summer's tournament.

"Waka Waka" it is not. Can she just sing that all summer instead?

Here are the important things to note:

1. The song is considerably less catchy than "Waka Waka" so you won't have to worry about it getting stuck in your head.

2. It is not the official FIFA song so you will hear it far less.

3. Pique approves of it.
