England face the test of Denmark ahead of their World Cup preparations as they host the Scandinavians at Wembley.
On the other flank, Luke Shaw could be introduced at some point to make his England debut, with Hodgson speaking in glowing terms about his recent performances for Southampton. Much of his experimentation, however, is likely to be on the wings, with Adam Lallana, Andros Townsend and Raheem Sterling all competing for a spot on the plane to Brazil.
Denmark, meanwhile, will likely be without Christian Eriksen, as Morten Olsen insisted that he would not be used if he was not fully fit. The Danes have a host of youngsters to choose from to replace him, among them Kasper Kusk, Emil Larsen, Casper Sloth, Thomas Delaney, Jacob Ankersen and Danny Olsen, the latter two being uncapped as yet.
With the Danes having narrowly missed out on qualifying for the World Cup, they will be focused on developing their new generation of talent to challenge for qualification for the 2016 European Championships, a competition they won 12 years ago.
