April Fools Day is usually one of the more lame and annoying "holidays" that somehow manages to persist. But the Colorado Rapids are doing their absolute best to make it not a total waste.
To mark the day, the Rapids put out this press release announcing their intentions to wear the Colorado Caribous' 1978 kits "at a future date." While all indications are that this an empty promise, the Vancouver Whitecaps are now starting a campaign to make it a reality:
RT if you want to see @ColoradoRapids wear these classic kits at @BCPlace on Saturday. FAVOURITE if you don't. pic.twitter.com/svDUbijj01

These are absolutely break-taking, and, yes, they include leather fringe and short-shorts. In case you're wondering, that's (from left to right) Marvell Wynne, Dillon Powers, Brian Mullan, Vicente Sanchez, Drew Moor and Deshorn Brown, none of whom are likely to hear the end of this anytime soon.
To their credit, the players and coach seem to be having quite a bit of fun with this.
