The draw for the UEFA Europa League semifinals have been made, with both La Liga sides drawing each other, leaving arguably the two strongest remaining sides to play each other.
Sevilla pulled off a brilliant comeback in the quarterfinals, recovering from a 3-0 deficit. They lost the first leg of their tie away to Basel by that score, but won the home leg 3-0 to force extra time. During the extra period, Basel had a man sent off and they were able to score two more times. Domestically, Sevilla are three places and 12 points ahead of Valencia, their semifinal opponents, but Los Che have four points from their two meetings this season.
The other semifinal is a bit more of a heavyweight clash, and the winner will almost certainly be made the favorite to win the final. Juventus has taken this competition seriously after falling out of the UEFA Champions League -- they get to host the final if they make it -- and they've progressed through a tough draw. Benfica, who were finalists last year, have had a comparatively easy draw, but were pushed by Tottenham Hotspur in the quarterfinals.
