Napoli vs Lazio: Preview and TV schedule

Giuseppe Bellini

Lazio still harbour European aspirations for next season, but face a tough test away at Napoli on Sunday.

Edy Reja will take a depleted squad to Naples to face one of his former sides. Short of attacking options, and with his side still in the hunt to claim a Europa League place, the 68-year-old tactician faces a tough test against a Napoli side looking to bounce back from defeat.

Despite last weekend's 1-0 setback at Parma, Napoli look set to secure a top three finish and a chance at entering next season's Champions League.  Rafa Benitez's side currently hold a nine point lead over fourth placed Fiorentina with just six games left to play.

However, Benitez was far from happy with his side's latest performance and hauled off Jose Callejon, Marek Hamsik and Gonzalo Higuain in the second half to send a message to his under-performing stars. Christian Maggio and Juan Zuniga have both returned to training after their injury lay-offs, but neither will be risked for this match. Otherwise, Benitez has the luxury of choosing from a full squad.

Lazio strung together back-to-back victories for only the second time this season with last weekend's 2-0 defeat of Sampdoria. The Eagles come into the game two points shy of Inter Milan in fifth place. Keita Balde joined the growing list of absentees with a knee injury sustained in training, while Lucas Biglia begins a ban after his red card last week. Cristian Ledesma is available after completing a two game suspension.

Lazio's last win in Naples was over five years ago. Napoli knocked their visitors out of this season's Coppa Italia and also won the reverse fixture 4-2 back in December.
