There seem to be signs of improvement at AC Milan, with Clarence Seedorf's side having strung consecutive wins together against Fiorentina and Chievo Verona. However, we've seen plenty of rossoneri false dawns already this season, and it remains to be seen whether they're actually really making great progress under the Dutch coach, who may well be replaced in the summer if he doesn't impress over the final seven games.
Genoa may be down in 13th and in inconsistent form but they're still only three points behind Milan, and Gian Piero Gasperini has made them into a pretty stubborn unit. He's occasionally dropped a man into midfield and swapped his 3-4-3 for a 3-5-2 this season, with his team invariably exceptionally well drilled in defence -- quite unlike how Milan have been over the last few campaigns.
Genoa will certainly be without Juraj Kucka for this match, while Matuzalém, Antonio Donnarumma and Šime Vrsaljko are in doubt. However, their injury list is nothing compared to Milan's, with Seedorf still missing Stephan El Shaarawy, Mattia De Sciglio and Sulley Muntari among others. Michael Essien faces a late fitness test.
