Cristiano Ronaldo seems unlikely to play against Borussia Dortmund after leaving training early on Monday. He aggravated a knee injury and left after training for just 20 minutes.
Ronaldo left last week's match against Dortmund with an injury, but he was expected to have a chance to start the second leg of their Champions League tie. Before the training session, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti suggested that Ronaldo would not play in the match unless he was completely fit.
"Ronaldo has had some treatment and trained at low intensity," said Ancelotti. "We will decide after today's training, and see whether he is okay or feels uncomfortable. If he is at 100 percent he will play, if not he will not."
The good news for Madrid is that they almost certainly don't need Ronaldo to progress. They won the first leg 3-0 and have the luxury of resting anyone they want, with an eye to the league, Copa del Rey and the Champions League semifinals.
