It's not surprising, seeing as Miguel Herrera started a 41-year-old, didn't pick a single actual central midfielder and is playing fullback/midfielder Carlos Salcido as a libero. But they do lead Israel 1-0, thanks to this stunner by Miguel Layun.
Yes, this is pretty poor defending and goalkeeping, but don't dwell on that too much. That's a great hit. As average of a defender as Layun is at the wingback spot, he's worth starting because he does things like that.
