Algeria down South Korea to clinch historic win

Algeria ran riot against South Korea to leave themselves with a big chance of making the knockout stages.

More goals! It's 4-2

No one has any desire to play defense. Not only does this game have six goals, but a few of them have been tap-ins. Here's another, from Koo Ja-Cheol.

Don't stop scoring. Six isn't enough. We need 12.

Good night, South Korea

Tiiiiiime toooooooo say gooooodbyeeeeeeeeeeee

It's 4-1, and that'll about end this game.

Ki denied a spectacular goal

Rais M'Bolhi had to read a nasty swerve on this shot by Ki Sung-Yeung and he did just that, making this spectacular save.

South Korea were looking like mounting a great comeback, but unfortunately for them, they conceded shortly after this. So not only dod M'Bolhli keep a goal out, he sparked a turnaround.

Son pulls one back

Maybe this pitch is just tilted? Algeria dominated South Korea in the first half, scoring three goals, but the Koreans have hit back. Their superstar Son Hueng-Min was the man who brought them back within two goals, applying this pretty finish off a turn.

Algeria add a third

South Korea's defense is very bad. They gave up two quick back-to-back goals, then conceded this third goal another 10 minutes later. Abdelmoumene Djabou was the scorer, and he was barely contested.

Nice assist from Islam Slimani, though.

Algeria score two quick goals

This isn't going well for South Korea. Algeria have created a ton of chances, but weren't finishing them early on. Once they finally hit the back of the net with one of them, they were pretty quick to get a second.

Here's the first from Islam Slimani, who was surprisingly dropped for the first game. Thankfully, that mistake has been rectified.

Rafik Halliche added a second with a header off a corner, and ... uhh ... this is bad goalkeeping.

South Korea are in deep trouble.

Algeria ring changes for South Korea clash

Algeria have reverted to a back three for their game against South Korea, with Abdelmoumene Djabou coming into the attack.
