Some six-and-a-half months after announcing a strange inside of the shirt sponsorship with Intel, FC Barcelona has sold some more space on the club's first team kits, albeit in a slightly more visible spot this time around. The Catalan club has signed a new four year deal with Turkish electronics manufacturer Beko to show the brand's logo on Barcelona's shirt sleeves.
The logo will feature on Barca shirts in all Spanish League and Cup games during the 2014/15 season and will also be visible on the club's shirts for friendlies both in during the summer and beyond. The logo will also be present on the club's training kits along with the main shirt sponsor, Qatar Airways. Beko will not feature on Barcelona's Champions League kits due to a regulation in UEFA's guidelines that says "a club may advertise for one single sponsor on the shirt of the playing attire."
Speaking about the new deal, FC Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu, said:
"FC Barcelona are proud to have you as part of the Barça family. Beko have previously worked in sport, particularly basketball, and they have now put their trust in Barça and we have out our trust in Beko.
"We will be beginning a new journey together, which I am sure will bring us both great satisfaction. It is a shared journey based on commonly held ideas and shared values such as thoroughness, exactitude ambition, teamwork, innovation, a global vocation and passion for what we do.
"This alliance with Beko and the Arçelik Group of Koç Holding is especially pleasing for us. As I said before, we know that Barça are very well loved and admired in Turkey and we estimate we have about 10 million fans there and are the country's most popular Club. These are loyal supporters, who recognise our singular nature and know that we are "more than a Club". For Barça, that is as important as our sporting success."
