Nike acquired AS Roma's business (officially) back in March of 2013 but it was too late to do anything for the then-upcoming 2013/14 season. For the whole of last season, Roma wore unbranded (but very nice) kits as they stormed up the Serie A table, finishing in second place behind Juventus and guaranteeing themselves a Champions League spot. Nike have already shown us the fantastic home kit that Roma will wear throughout the season but the away kit unveiled this week simply should not be missed.
Using a template similar to the one that the Netherlands (home and away) and Croatia (home) wore during the World Cup, Roma's new away kit is mostly white save for one striking detail. The front of the home shirt features a wide, two-tone sash that runs from the left shoulder down to the right hem at the bottom of the shirt. The sash is cut in half with each side representing Roma's famous Giallorossi colorway.
The Nike Swoosh and back half of the v-neck collar are both colored with Roma's traditional red while the wide sleeve cuffs are white, matching the rest of the shirt. On the inside of the neck is a red pennant tab which bears the words "La Roma Non Si Discute Si Ama" or "Roma is loved without question" in yellow. The tab is basically a reverse of the one found on the home shirt.
The kit is completed by all-white shorts and socks.
