James pulls Colombia within a goal

Colombia looked a bit dead in the water when Brazil put them down 2-0, but they've pulled one back from the penalty spot. Julio Cesar was shown a yellow card after committing this foul, which led to the referee pointing to the spot. It was a good call -- it was a clear penalty, but not denial of a clear goal-scoring opportunity.

James Rodriguez stepped up to convert, scoring his 6th goal of the tournament, which is tops in the World Cup. He also played the pass to set up the penalty in the first place, and he's the only consistent attacker on his team in this game.

David Luiz makes it 2-0

It looks like Colombia's Cinderella run is coming to an end. Brazil now lead Los Cafeteros 2-0, thanks to a pretty free kick by David Luiz.

Coming into this tournament, Luiz hadn't scored any goals for his country. Now, he has two. He did a great job to get the ball up and down so quickly on that one.

Brazil up on set piece

Is this a carbon copy of the last game? A central defender has given Brazil the lead on Colombia very early in the first half.

That's really, really bad set piece marking by Colombia. There's just no reason for Thiago Silva to be that free on a corner kick ever, and certainly not right at the far post. Colombia have a tough fight back from this.
