On Sunday league-leading Lyon host the biggest game of the Ligue 1 season to date, as they welcome Paris Saint-Germain to the Stade de Gerland. Heading into the round the Parisians occupy third place in the table, though a win would enable them to leapfrog both Marseille and Lyon and take command of a title race that is proving to be much more difficult than Laurent Blanc's side would've anticipated at the start of the season.
They'll be relieved to see that Lyon will be without the league's top scorer in Alexandre Lacazette, who is ruled out for the second consecutive week of action courtesy of a thigh injury. Lyon looked impotent in his absence against Monaco last time out, and were held to a goalless draw in the principality. However, they'll still have to do the business at the other end of the field, with Lyon having the best defensive record of everyone in the division.
Key player - Zlatan Ibrahimović (Paris Saint-Germain)
33-year-old Zlatan Ibrahimović is now 33 years old, but he's still PSG's most important player. The big Swedish striker is as important at bringing his teammates into play as he is at putting it into the back of the net himself, and much of PSG's attacking play with go through him. Good luck stopping him, Lyon.
Key matchup - Lyon's attack vs. Lacazette's absence
So crucial has Lacazette been to Lyon's fortunes so far this season that they looked pretty lost without him against Monaco. His strike partner Nabil Fekir is more creative but less clinical, so Hubert Fournier has to try and find a way to compensate for Lacazette's absence. If not, PSG's rather patchy defence may have a rather easier evening than anticipated.
Lyon injuries and suspensions
Out: Milan Biševac (knee), Alexandre Lacazette (thigh), Clement Grenier (groin), Gueïda Fofana (ankle), Mouhamadou Dabo (suspended). In doubt: None.
Paris Saint-Germain injuries and suspensions
Out: Serge Aurier (international duty). In doubt: None.
Lyon's biggest absentee will be the league's top scorer Alexandre Lacazette, though they're without a handful of other first-teamers, including the suspended full-back Mouhamadou Dabo. PSG should have a full-strength team with the exception of full-back Serge Aurier, who is on international duty with the Ivory Coast.
While the game is on in the United States and Canada, it will be shown on a slight delay. beIN Sports will start showing the match from the beginning at the conclusion of the Africa Cup of Nations final.
