You voted long and hard last week, and the winner changed more or less everyday. But after seven days, and five posts about players who have all had great seasons. We can now reveal who won our player of the season award. It is of course the most prestigious award for any Latics player to win.

I missed one yesterday in looking at Latics's player of the season. So instead you are going to get today. The first of the two is our resident ever present in goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi. Would you believe me if I said he hasn't missed a game since signing.

It’s that time of year again. Where after a very long and hard slog, we come down to saying what our best bits were, it gives that lighter tinge even on the darkest of seasons. So today and for the rest of this week, I am looking for you player of the season.

So yeah we were brilliant. What made this result even better was the fact that by the end of the game, we weren’t just controlling the game we were humiliating Newcastle (sounds harsh, I know). What I mean to say, is that we just passed and passed and then passed some more, and it looked for all the world that we were the team in fourth and not fourth from bottom.
