A few months ago with the possibility of an FA Cup final on the horizon I asked what would be success for Wigan Athletic? Would we take the FA Cup win over staying in the Premier League? Then I stated that I would take survival.
It has been a week where players are now slowly but surely starting to return to the first team, and at the weekend we saw another one re-join the Latics ranks. Antolin Alcaraz was the second defender to return from injury.
We feel we should have done better against Liverpool, that in itself shows how far we have come, to expect to beat one of England's and even Europe's top teams. But now we have to ask ourselves why we didn't get something from the game.
