So yeah we were brilliant. What made this result even better was the fact that by the end of the game, we weren’t just controlling the game we were humiliating Newcastle (sounds harsh, I know). What I mean to say, is that we just passed and passed and then passed some more, and it looked for all the world that we were the team in fourth and not fourth from bottom.

It wasn't meant to be this close! After a great past few results for Wigan, everyone else has upped their game, and it now means that this weekends game against Newcastle is going to be a big one. In other words we have to win, although we were planing on that already, having not picked up anything against Fulham has seriously hurt us.

Well I have been wondering who is likely to score for us. Whoever has been upfront has looked like they could but then never managed to really produce something when the chances arised. Both Hugo Rodallega and Franco Di Santo have missed a fair few sitters this season.

Last week I asked which striker you could like to have back at the club pushing the front line for us. I nearly thought i would have to dig deep into the internet and talk about Amir Zaki. Instead I had the easier task of talking about one of the nicest men in football, Jason Roberts.

This game had all the makings of one that was about to fall flat on its face before the whistle had even been blown. The choice of referee for one thing Andre Marriner, the man who gave the Blackburn corner goal, his star role would come in the second half.

Here we are again, on a Sunday afternoon i get to write a lovely match report how, yet again we fail to do what we should of and could have done. Losing to our dearest rivals seems to be a trend that Wigan have, and if we want to stay in the league, then we can not let it continue for much longer.

I will start off with a confession. And that is, I have no clue about Swindon at all. I wouldn't even know where to begin (no offence to any Swindon Fans). Yet I am going to try my best, I do remember they very nearly broke into the Championship, with a side which was going so well. Then fell at those nastiest of play-off hurdles.

This game last year, a win was a must to keep us in the Premier League, this time round a win is a must again. Not to keep us up, but to keep us in pace with the rest of the league. Yet Stoke City is not really a place where getting a win will be an easy place.

The game lacked creativity in the final third. After a run of good form, this was a disappointing performance from Chelsea. Wigan were also dour in possession and it took a defensive error to level the scores.
