Bad news for Aston Villa - Shay Given's hamstring injury will rule him out until the new year.
Javier Hernandez will be about for about a month after sustaining ankle ligament damage during Manchester United's 1-0 win against Aston Villa.
Tottenham had no problems in beating Aston Villa at home, scoring two first-half goals through Emmanuel Adebayor and then going on cruise control for the rest of the match.
