I have been very reluctant to do anything about Roberto Martinez, each and every hour the situation keeps changing on what is happening with the Liverpool job and with Martinez's future at Wigan. This has probably been the busiest 48 hours in the clubs history, in terms of speculation and what is going in and around our club.

Well my first season (and Pie Eaters Footie's) first season as part of SB Nation has now come to have very enjoyable end. The lads pulled together and we saw the best run of results that we have ever had in the Premier League, and the first time under Martinez that we have won three on the bounce. A brilliant effort and well worth another year in the Premier League.

So I finished yesterday with us winning 2-1 at Sunderland in dramatic fashion. With the man of the moment being a surprising Jordi Gomez who had scored two goals in his last two games, and was controlling our midfield from back to front. Isn't it weird how times change. You felt like it wouldn't be long till he was back to his own ways, and the team the same for that matter.

In the end the result was really the run away winner. Getting nearly 50% of the votes, Shaun Maloney's curling shot against Manchester United won our goal of the season and rightly too. The goal is a great one to watch but not only that, it was the goal that lead us to victory over United for the very first time.

The last time I talked about Martinez on here, I said that he wasn't going anywhere and was staying at the club. No all you can hear or read about Wigan Athletic is Martinez's future at the club. That is a bit of a worry as you don't want so much speculation circling around one man at the club, and also we don't want you to go Bobby.

Roberto Martinez's future is mostly speculated in the media about which club he may or may not be taking charge of this summer. Last week Roberto was said to be lined up as the number one choice for the Liverpool job, with him already having gone into talks with the owner of Liverpool.

Oh Chris Kirkland. We did and do love you, when we signed you on loan many of us groaned wondering would we ever keep you fit. Then somehow the medical staff at the club did magical, magical thing to you. And for a good two seasons you looked like one of the best keepers in the Premier League and destined for bigger things.

Ah goals, those things that win football matches and where all of the ball must cross the line. Alas we have not seen many goals this season (that is in Wigan actually scoring them), although towards the end of the season we did get significantly better at finding the target.
