The Seattle Sounders have released their team salaries for the 2012 season. The club currently sits in third place in the Western Conference with a record of 7-3-2, and have allowed the fewest goals of anyone in the league.

We'll take a look at the salary numbers after the jump.

Here is a complete list of each player's compensation for 2012.

Fredy Montero unsurprisingly leads the way at $600,000 base salary and $756,000 in guaranteed money, and Alvaro Fernandez came in second at $300,000 and $366,666.67.

Here were a few more notes from Joshua Mayers of The Seattle Times:

Here are where some notable newcomers fall in terms of salary/guaranteed compensation): Marc Burch ($65,000/$65,000), Michael Gspurning ($200,000/$275,000), Adam Johansson ($175,000/$182,833.33), Eddie Johnson ($100,000/$106,333.33), Christian Sivebaek ($99,996/$99,996), Andrew Weber ($51,996/$58,445.93).

--- Several players got raises, including Osvaldo Alonso (from $140,000), Brad Evans (from $121,000/$134,750), Leo Gonzalez (from $110,000), Jhon Kennedy Hurtado (from $160,000/$161,000), Fredy Montero (from $500,000/$656,000), Jeff Parke (from $136,500) and Mauro Rosales (from $42,000).

Sounder at Heartgives their take, noting:

Fredy Montero is our highest paid player, and a bargain at any price. Leaving injuries aside, we're largely paying our highest salaries to our most productive players, which is where you want to be. The player whose salary is most out of whack with production on the high side (again, leaving Zakuani and White out of it for injury reasons) is probably Sivebaek, who's disappeared from the roster after some erratic early season games. But $100K is hardly a disastrous amount of money or cap space to spend on a speculative player. At the other end, Bryan Meredith, Alex Caskey, and Andy Rose have put in very productive minutes for the minimum.

For more on the Sounders, be sure to head over to Sounder at Heart.

WWDC-FM, better known as DC101, bills itself as DC's Rock Station. And if you're going to properly call yourself a rock station, you've got to have some bands from Seattle in there. Just off the top of our heads, there's Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, and a bunch of other bands that our more musically inclined readers can tell us about.

But there's a problem. You see, D.C. United hosts the Seattle Sounders Saturday night at RFK Stadium, and with former United defender Marc Burch speaking his mind, there's a lot of juice around the Washington Derby (see what we did there?)

So what happens when home team loyalty collides with the heavy rotation? This.

REMINDER: We are Seattle band free this afternoon in support of @DCUnited. They play the Seattle Sounders tomorrow at RFK.

— DC101 (@DC101) April 6, 2012

We've been living here for a couple of years now, and we can't recall a radio station doing this for any other team. Do radio stations stop playing Prince during the week that the Redskins play the Vikings? Do the country stations shut down during Dallas week? Did the classic rock stations cut Billy Joel's "New York State of Mind" during last year's Rangers series? We don't think so.
