After weeks of speculation and very strong hints, the Sounders finally announced Fredy Montero would be going to Colombian club Millonarios on a one-year loan marking the end of an era in Seattle.

Fredy Montero is not a Seattle Sounder in 2013. But today's announcement included a contract extension so judging beyond this year is difficult. One thing we do know is that from 2009-2012 Montero led the offense and the highlight reels.

Fredy Montero will spend 2013 with Millonarios, the Colombian league champions, on loan for the year from Seattle Sounders FC the team announced via press release this morning.

Montero tweets out a message suggesting his move to Millonarios should soon be official and a photo surfaces of him wearing their jersey.
