Colombian Connection: America de Cali Goalkeeper Diego Restrepo Says The Union Are Interested In A Transfer

Diego Restrepo has stated that both the Union and Chivas USA, along with other Colombian teams, are interested in acquiring his rights. Restrepo was the first choice goalkeeper for Cali at the beginning of the Colombian season, but a coaching change early on moved him to backup behind Julian Viafara. After Viafara was banned for six months due to a drug related situation, Restrepo returned to the top goalkeeping spot.

At the end of the 2011 season, Torres will only have made around $204,725 since joining the Union. With the team's sponsorship deals and game-related revenues, the Union can easily afford Torres' potentially less than $200,000 cost, which is most likely much lower than former Union center defender Michael Orozco Fiscal's transfer price.
