Back on Friday, Nov. 9, the 2012-13 college basketball season began. Today, one of the most thrilling and unpredictable campaigns in recent memory reaches the beginning of its end as the 68 teams that will play for the title will be revealed.

Bracketology: Who ends up on the top line?

In 2012, there was a clear No. 1 overall seed, Kentucky, the squad that happened to win the national championship. This season, the top nod, and the entire one line on the seed list for that matter, is not quite so clear cut.

Earlier today, Mississippi took a small step toward safety with a victory over Vanderbilt in the SEC semifinals, but just like the other teams on the Last Four In list, the Rebels are far from certain to see action in the 2013 NCAA Tournament.
