interview with Andrey Vatuin of CSKA Moscow (Shved tidbit)

"RealGM: Did the departure of Alexey Shved, who left the team and signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves surprise you? Vatutin: No, not at all. For sure he deserves this. I don’t know if he’s ready or not. I think he’s ready mentally. He’s young and life in Russia and the States will be the same for him. In the NBA, Alexey can be useful on offense, but he’s absolutely not ready to play defense. I think the Timberwolves will give him a chance. [Ricky] Rubio is injured; therefore Alexey will get some playing time.

Nikola Mirotic on ESPN3 - 11/10 @ 3:45 p.m.

+

At some point yesterday I happened to read somewhere that some Euroleague games were available on ESPN3. So I took a moment to check the ESPN3 schedule to see when we'd have a chance to watch Nikola Mirotic, who plays for Real Madrid. The next available game is next Thursday, November 10 at 3:45 p.m. ET (2:45 p.m. Chicago time). Real Madrid plays Partizan Belgrade (copy and paste FTW!). With the absence of the NBA, this may be little more than a sniff of glue for a hardcore drug addict who needs a fix, but I have to admit that I'm looking forward to actual game action involving someone who should ultimately help the Bulls win some games.

Want to know where your favorite Silver Star is playing this offseason?

+

No problem! The San Antonio SIlver Stars have created a composite calendar showing all of the games for their players who are overseas. Many of us are busy compiling lists and calendars of our own to try to keep track of our favorites, so this is a very nice tool for that purpose (as well as a nice calendar to get you through to the next WNBA season!) Thanks, Silver Stars!
